Issues encountered during editing

The main issue that we encountered during editing was that many of our scenes towards the end of the film were too dark, this is because as part of the storyline the power goes out meaning that we needed to film with no lights on. Whilst filming however we did use small lights placed around the room and one attached to the camera that lit the scene enough to see what was happening yet the audience could not see that any lights were on. However when it came to editing we found that the scenes were still too dark.
To solve this we applied a brightness and contrast filter over all of the dark scenes and adjusted the sliders to lighten the shot, this did improve the shots so that the audience can see the actions of the characters whilst still thinking that the lights are on.

These are two examples of the shots that were lightened

We also found it difficult to maintain continuity with the whistling, to solve this we spent a lot of time carefully matching the different parts of the whistle to match them up and also used the cross dissolve audio transition to ensure a smooth transition between each shot.
